Assignment of benefits (AOB) contracts are documents signed by a policyholder that allows a third-party to seek payment directly from an insurance company as compensation for work performed. In other words, after a loss, the AOB gives a plumber, general contractor, restoration company, or other service providers the right to bill the insurance company directly for services performed.
This helps get the necessary repairs done quickly, but can sometimes turn into a disaster when insurance companies deny the claims and the property owner becomes responsible for repairs they cannot afford.
We will review your AOB contract before you sign it. If you are considering signing an AOB contract or are having problems with one that you’ve already executed, Law Office of Dianne Grant can work with the insurance companies to ensure that temporary repairs, tarp services, dry-out (water remediation), content pack out and storage services are put in place quickly and paid for promptly.
We also represent plumbers, general contractors, restoration companies, and other service providers against insurance companies that fail to promptly pay for services performed.
